Running the central HVAC with open windows

I’m really not the type of person who tells other people what to do. I find that it never helps if you are critical or try to control other human beings. They will revolt against you and harbor negative feelings before they ever change their own minds. This is just the way that the human brain seems to operate. That’s why I never get into other people’s business or tell them how to manage their own lives. But I can tell you, it’s incredibly hard sometimes to keep my lips zipped. This is especially true when I see people making Financial mistakes that are easy to fix. For instance, the number of people who do not understand how to operate a heating, cooling, and air quality control system economically and efficiently is absolutely ridiculous. I know so many humans who crank their thermostats up and down at every temperature control whim. If they are cold, they make the heating system blast hot air into the house. If they are too warm, they start beating the hell out of their air conditioning unit. All of this drives up there monthly heating expense, and contributes a lot of extra wear and tear to their expensive indoor air handling devices. Every furnace and air conditioner has a limit. One of my best friends honestly has no idea what she’s doing with her HVAC unit. This was clear on the day that she complained about her house being too cold, turned the heat up to full blast, and then walked past her open window to return to the couch. It was 30 degrees outside, and she wondered why it still felt chilly.
