I am still nursing some absolutely awful chapped lips from using lavender oil under my nose at night for sleep! I didn’t know that it eats away your skin if left on it, but I know now & am trying to reuse from it. My lips & skin under my nose were bleeding because the skin broke open, so now I am staying out of the sun & trying to get the skin back to normal again. I have been putting coconut oil on my lips & skin for a few nights now & I feel it’s okay now. Heating & Air Conditioning labor at the local supplier had to go on hold for a day this past week because my lips were too hurting to even talk. If I tried to talk my lips would cut open & bleed, which is not a fun or pleasant thing to go through, and the cooling representative told me about the oil a few months ago but forgot to mention not to put it on the skin, so he understands why I had to miss labor at the Heating & Air Conditioning contractor this past week. I feel the oil is superb for sleep, but the best way to use it is to diffuse it in the room somehow & not put it directly on the skin. My UV air purifier is a nice diffuser & I like to put a drop or two on the filter at night on the HEPA filter just before bed, & then let the smell diffuse into the room & lull me to sleep with its pleasantly sweet smell.
