I can not get over the week that my associate and I have had.
A dire winter season storm blew through about four days ago and knocked out power to our entire town. With snow drifts over three feet and winds gusting to nearly sixty five miles per hour it was impossible for utility companies to service the lines for several days. The biggest concern was the fact that our Heating and A/C system needs electricity to run. Oh how my associate and I wished my associate and I had looked into a generator before my associate and I found ourselves in this position. Our Heating and A/C supplier has had a few specials on the purchase in installation of whole home generators however my associate and I simply felt that my associate and I couldn’t afford one at the time. Now, my associate and I are faced with broken pipes, the water to the home shut off and a hefty service bill from the plumber. The basement is a mess because my associate and I didn’t notice the burst pipe until it warmed up enough to thaw the chop and the idea of cleaning all that up is daunting. Once the heat came back on my associate and I thought my associate and I were in good shape until all of that happened. At least the boiler was not detrimentd by the leak and my associate and I don’t have to invest in a current one of those too! We already have a call into our Heating and A/C supplier to come supply us a price on the generator. Many of our neighbors are doing the same thing so it will be a few days before they can get to us. This is absolutely one of those times I wish I could turn back time and take fortune of one of those deals that they were offering instead of ignoring it.
