I grew up in a a really humid climate down South, and it was terrible. Don’t get me wrong, I loved my childhood, and I have precious memories of being with my lovely family, but as far as climate goes, I wouldn’t want to go back to those “good old days.” I can remember just sweating up a storm as I played outside as a child, and the sweat would never evaporate because it was so humid outside. After I married my wonderful husband, we moved out West to were his family is, and I love it!. The floors aren’t constantly slippery, and the sweat actually drys off of my skin now. I just love the dry heat that we get out here; it makes being outside a whole lot more enjoyable. Unfortunately during the winter months, it gets too dry. Last winter, it got to the point where both my husband and I would wake up each morning barely able to even talk because our throats were so dry from breathing in all that dry air throughout the night. Our lips were constantly chapped, and our skin was so dry that even using lotion twice a day wasn’t enough. We decided we need to purchase a humidifier. We ended up purchasing a couple of humidifiers, and we had no idea how much they would help. We ran them 24/7, and we were amazing at how much relief it brought us. We no longer had dry throats, lips, and skin. I think all the money we saved on lotion paid for the extra electricity we used by running the humidifiers all the time. We love living out West, and the humidifiers have allowed us to enjoy wintertime just as much as every other season.
