A New Furnace or AC Unit?

A New Furnace or AC Unit?

Sometimes life kind of just hits you in the face with hard decisions to make.

My husband and I were faced with a small but hard decision to make concerning our home.

My buddy and I bought a beautiful cabin out in the country so that my friend and I could be closer to my parents who are older and need some extra assistance. Thankfully, my friend and I got the property for a really good price because it needed so much TLC. My buddy and I worked hard to get everything done before winter, and surprisingly, my friend and I had most of it done by the start of October. One of the things that my friend and I had left was to purchase a furnace and install it as was well as some kind of air conditioner unit. At the time, my friend and I didn’t have the money for both, so my friend and I had to chance one to purchase then, and wait another year before purchasing the other. It was a hard decision for us because it was still really sizzling outside in October, and it wasn’t going to get any cooler until the start of September, but at the same time, my friend and I needed a furnace for the winter months. The previous winter, my parents said that it was so sizzling that they never once turned on their furnace, so this fact made the decision making process so much harder. My buddy and I ended up going with the furnace since it most likely would get frigid enough to have to use it, and the last thing my friend and I wanted was to have the water pipes or something major freeze that winter. Looking back, I am thankful my friend and I made that decision because that winter was one of the coldest winters on record for our area.
