Isn’t it funny how the most mysterious things in life time to have an extremely simple answer? You can toil away, trying to solve a big mystery, but in the end it’s probably a very reasonable causation.
I found this out recently after spending weeks trying to repair my central heating and cooling system.
You see, for the past several months I’ve noticed that my indoor air temperature was decreasing every night. When I would wake up in the morning the overall air temperature would be about 60° in the house. As I moved towards the rear bedrooms, the air temperature only decreased. It was clear that there was some kind of problem with the indoor heating and cooling system, which was causing uneven hot and cold temperatures throughout my house. I couldn’t figure out what was going on, and I kept reading on the internet for new solutions. No matter what troubleshooting guides I followed, my HVAC system performance never seems to improve. Every morning was exactly the same thing; extreme cold flowing through half of the house. After beating my head against the wall for two or three weeks, I finally mentioned to the issue to my roommate. She looked at me inquisitively, and asked why I was so worried about utilizing our central heating system efficiently. She said, at night it felt way too hot in the house. That’s why, she had been opening her bedroom windows as wide as possible every evening. She wanted to let some cool air in so she could sleep better at night. Well, mystery solved – I guess her open windows in the dead of winter adequately explain our terrible indoor heating circumstances.
