When I was growing up, I assumed that I would have one or two children at some point down the line.
I didn’t understand why people had more kids than that, because you only have two hands to deal with the kids.
When you’re throwing a third or fourth child, I don’t know how you wrangle them all at once. Well, the world is thought that it would play a funny joke on me when I got older and started having children with my husband. The first pregnancy went perfectly and we decided to try for child number 2. When number two came out, unfortunately so did number three. You see, I managed to have twins and overshoot my ideal number of offspring in one fell swoop. This immediately caused new challenges in our household That we are still dealing with. As the oldest child continued to grow up, he became very unhappy with sharing a room next to his annoying twin sisters. He wanted to move into the basement for some privacy, but it’s so cold down there that he couldn’t sleep at night. Even with a giant pile of quilts, there was not enough heat for him to safely stay in that space. We talked about getting many space heaters to improve the air temperature downstairs, but I felt like that was extremely dangerous for everyone. Then, I started considering extending our heating system into the basement with its own zone controlled temperature management. I figured, we could viably install radiant heated floors or a secondary forced air furnace, and keep the thermostat separate from the one upstairs. That way, my kid can stay comfortable in the basement and we can get some peace and quiet upstairs without going broke.
