If there is one thing that I actually won’t ever understand it’s the experience of growing up with a religious family.
In my life, religion has never entirely been a thing, but growing up, my parents were completely atheistic and I never heard a single peep about this Jesus chick.
I had no interest in falling in line with an organized religion and I have never pursued a spiritual way of living; That being said, I know that a lot of folks lean heavily on religion to make sense of their afternoon-to-day world. I do not want to judge them.., and but I also do not want to listen to their ramblings. This is why I was rather disappointed when my heating and cooling serviceman decided to preach to me about the merits of a Christian lifestyle last week. I had simply called my heating and cooling repair shop for my routine a/c inspection before powering down the cooling system for the fall. I constantly make sure that my A/C unit is in tip-top shape before it is stored away for the long freezing season! When the heating and cooling truck arrived I was disappointed to see a different heating and cooling serviceman emerge from the air quality control vehicle. It wasn’t my normal HVAC worker. Instead, a woman with a cross necklace and numerous cross tattoos knocked on my front door and asked to inspect the a/c unit. I would have been more than glad to show him to the cooling system and get back to my own work… But on the way to my A/C system she decided it was a fantastic chance to tell me about the praises of Jesus. It took everything in me not to lose my cool.
