If there has one thing that I legitimately will not ever understand it’s the experience of growing up with a religious family, in my life, religion has never absolutely been a thing, however growing up, my parents were completely atheistic and I never heard a single peep about this Jesus dude.
I had no interest in falling in line with an organized religion and I have never pursued a spiritual way of living, and that being said, I know that a lot of folks lean heavily on religion to make sense of their afternoon-to-day world.
I do not want to judge them… But I also do not want to listen to their ramblings. This is why I was rather disappointed when my heating and cooling professional decided to preach to me about the merits of a Christian lifestyle last week. I had simply called my heating and cooling maintenance shop for my routine air conditioning inspection before powering down the cooling system for the fall. I always make sure that my A/C equipment is in tip-top shape before it is stored away for the long cold season, but when the heating and cooling truck arrived I was disappointed to see a odd heating and cooling professional emerge from the air quality control vehicle. It wasn’t my normal Heating & Air Conditioning worker. Instead, a guy with a cross necklace and several cross tattoos knocked on my front door and asked to inspect the air conditioning unit. I would have been more than delighted to show him to the cooling system and get back to my own work… But on the way to my A/C system he decided it was a nice opening to tell me about the praises of Jesus. It took everything in me not to lose my cool.
