If there is one thing that I entirely won’t ever understand it’s the experience of growing up with a religious family! In my life, religion has never entirely been a thing! Growing up, my parents were completely atheistic and I never heard a single peep about this Jesus dude.
I had no interest in falling in line with an organized religion and I have never pursued a spiritual way of living, and that being said, I know that a lot of folks lean heavily on religion to make sense of their afternoon-to-day world.
I don’t want to judge them.., then but I also don’t want to listen to their ramblings. This is why I was rather disappointed when my heating and cooling worker decided to preach to me about the merits of a Christian lifestyle last week. I had simply called my heating and cooling repair shop for my routine air conditioner inspection before powering down the cooling system for the fall. I always make sure that my AC unit is in tip-top shape before it is stored away for the long cold season, then when the heating and cooling truck arrived I was disappointed to see a weird heating and cooling worker emerge from the air quality control vehicle. It wasn’t my normal Heating as well as A/C worker. Instead, a guy with a cross necklace and numerous cross tattoos knocked on my front door and asked to inspect the air conditioner. I would have been more than enthusiastic to show him to the cooling system and get back to my own work… But on the way to my AC system he decided it was a wonderful option to tell me about the praises of Jesus. It took everything in me not to lose my cool.
