I’ve heard different things from athletes as far as injury recovery of the joints go.
One person says to put ice on the joints after sports and the other tells me not to use ice at all.
I am more of a proponent of ice but now I am wondering if it is helping or hurting me. I do know that using sugar in my diet causes more pain, so I have removed all sugar from my diet except that which is found in fruits and veggies. My buddy said to stop all dairy too, but that’s too much. Heat pumps were very tough to carry when I was eating a lot of sugar, as my knees hurt so much that I found it impossible to bend down to work on the HVAC equipment each day. Now my knees are a lot better and I am finding that I can do a lot of things that I wasn’t able to do before when I was eating sugar all of the time. Air conditioners, especially those mini split a/c units, are not easy to carry up stairs when your knees hurt, so stopping the pain was imperative for me to keep my job working for the new contractor in our town. I am living overseas and don’t have the aid of my family to help me, so being on my own is even tougher when I am in pain like that and can’t do a lot of things that I normally can do. I feel better now thanks to my cooling specialist friend who told me about quitting the sugar.
