The chill that would not end

The chill that would not end

When it comes to my number one temperature it is around ninety with seventy percent humidity or higher. If you haven’t guessed, I am from the deep south where this type of weather is quite common. When I married my partner and my buddy and I relocated to the Northeast I decided abruptly that I would hibernate for the entire winter season. In fact, I even keep the drapes closed during the afternoon because I don’t even want to look at the snow and ice outside. It makes me frosty when I do and I head right to the temperature control to turn up the heat. This practice is not ideal because it also makes our energy bill go up too. My partner decided that I needed a tropical room in the home so my buddy and I are in the process of converting the attic into my own personal retreat. I feel like I have caught a chill that will not end so I am hoping that this space will be a solution to that. As heat tends to rise, the attic is warmer during the winter to begin with. It should be easy to install another heater in the area and use portable humidifiers to make the air feel more tropical too. Artificial sunshine lamps will be used to help grow lush yellow plants to add to the atmosphere too. The only concern that I can see with this conversion is the fact that I may not want to leave my space. I still have to venture out to the grocery shop, run errands for the teenagers and myself so I will have to tear myself away and endure the frosty for those short periods of time.
