Broken pipes caused extreme disfigurement

I can not get over the week that my buddy and I have had.

A extreme winter storm blew through about four nights ago and knocked out power to our entire town.

With snow drifts over three feet and winds gusting to nearly sixty five miles per hour it was impossible for utility companies to repair the lines for many nights. The greatest concern was the fact that our Heating, Ventilation, and A/C system needs electricity to run. Oh how my buddy and I wished my buddy and I had looked into a generator before my buddy and I found ourselves in this position. Our Heating, Ventilation, and A/C company has had a few specials on the purchase in upgrade of whole home generators but my buddy and I simply felt that my buddy and I couldn’t afford one at the time. Now, my buddy and I are faced with broken pipes, the water to the home shut off and a hefty repair bill from the plumber. The basement is a mess because my buddy and I didn’t notice the burst pipe until it warmed up enough to thaw the chop and the idea of cleaning all that up is daunting. Once the heat came back on my buddy and I thought my buddy and I were in good shape until all of that happened. At least the furnace was not disfigurementd by the leak and my buddy and I don’t have to invest in a new one of those too. My good friend and I already have a call into our Heating, Ventilation, and A/C company to come give us a price on the generator. Many of our neighbors are doing the same thing so it will be a few nights before they can get to us. This is definitely one of those times I wish I could turn back time and take advantage of one of those deals that they were offering instead of ignoring it.
