My hubby built a backyard shed totally on his own; It was such a relief since storage was a substantial concern in our household… My good friend and I had one kitchen that was converted into a storage area.
I ended up needing the space for laundry, but all my hubby’s tools had nowhere to go then, he leveled the ground, made tile pillars, and erected a shed.
He did the siding, flooring, and the roof. I was so proud of him. He just didn’t attach the roof fully to his shed walls, then there was a little bit of finished toil left. It was over a year before he decided that it needed to be done; By that point, my hubby was done with all things roofing, so he ended up hiring a roofing company to take care of it themselves. It took the guys under an hour and cost hardly anything. They just did a few finishing touches to ensure the roof was sealed properly. My hubby was relieved not to go back up there and tackle that project again. I was blissful that he was willing to hire something out. After doing all that toil on his shed, he deserved a break. The roofers did a absolutely good job. My good friend and I saved their number and figured that someday they would be back… Residential roofs don’t last forever after all. It will be within ten years that a whole up-to-date roof will be needed on our house. I will call those guys up and have them match the roof to the shed most likely.
