David and I have built a wonderful life together.
We started a successful business two years after we got married; we raised five beautiful children; and recently, we retired to travel the wonderful country that we call home.
We have really enjoyed our retirement thus far. Trying to adjust ourselves to this new lifestyle was a little strange at first, but it feels pretty normal now. Not having to go into work everyday and be on call 24/7 for our employees and customers is very weird. To help make traveling the country more convenient for ourselves, we purchased a used RV. Having a place that feels a little more like home than a hotel room is really nice. We had no troubles with the RV until winter hit us. We had run the furnace the previous summer just to make sure it worked properly, and it did. However when we turned it on a couple weeks ago, it wasn’t blowing warm air. The fan was certainly working because air was coming out of the vents, but it was cold air. The first thing we checked was the propane. We knew that if the propane wasn’t getting to the furnace then there would be no heat, but after investigating that, we discovered that propane wasn’t the problem. We ended up calling and HVAC technician to come and take a look at it. Thankfully, he had worked on many RV and camper furnaces, so he knew what he was doing. He fixed the furnace within an hour, and we were so thankful to have heat for the chilly winter months. Although retirement has been a dream come true, life always comes with its challenges no matter what stage you’re in.
